Applications Open at Derby’s Upcoming Destination, Bustler at St James’ Yard
Independent businesses, creatives and hospitality entrepreneurs are being invited to be part of an exciting new chapter for Derby as applications officially open for units at St James’ Yard, the latest project from street food and hospitality brand Bustler.
Set in the heart of Derby city centre, St James’ Yard will transform a long-unused site into a vibrant, container-built destination bringing together independent food, drink, retail and lifestyle businesses in one dynamic space.
Bustler, which began in 2017 as a monthly street food market under Derby Bus Station before expanding into multiple venues including its food hall in Nottingham’s Sneinton Market, is now looking for ambitious traders and brands to help shape the next evolution of the concept.
The team are seeking a diverse mix of offerings to create a lively, all-day to night destination that reflects the creativity and energy of independent businesses. Opportunities are open to a wide range of operators including chefs, street food traders, bakehouses, breweries, florists, delis, barbers, tattooists, beauty therapists, designers, artists, clothing brands, homeware retailers, fitness concepts and other unique lifestyle businesses.
The vision for St James’ Yard is to curate a carefully balanced mix of food, drink, service, retail and entertainment that creates a unique experience for visitors and a thriving area in the City Centre.
Rather than simply filling units, Bustler is focused on building a collaborative destination where businesses complement one another and contribute to a buzzing social atmosphere.
St James’ Yard will feature micro-restaurants, street food kitchens, bars, cafés and independent retail units, all built from shipping containers over two levels and designed to bring new life, energy and social vibrancy to this part of the city.
Bustler Marketing and Events Manager said:
“We’re looking for people with exciting ideas, quality concepts and big ambition. Whether it’s amazing street food, great coffee, creative retail or lifestyle brands, we want to build a place that feels fresh, energetic and completely unique to Derby.”
Demand for the units is expected to be high as interest in independent-led destinations continues to grow across the UK.
Applications are now open for businesses who want to be part of shaping what promises to be one of the city’s most exciting new destinations.
Those interested in securing a unit are encouraged to apply now.
Applications can be submitted via the link in Bustler’s social media bio.
